Sochi 2014 - Home of the 2014 Australian Olympic Winter Team
Paul Kovacs Paul Kovacs

Athlete Biography

Paul Kovacs skis for the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club in Australia. Off the snow he is finishing his Honours in Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Ballarat.

In the lead up to Sochi Kovacs balanced writing a thesis with heavy training. His thesis was based on the double poling machine used by the Australian Institute of Sport and the National Cross Country Ski team. Entitled "The reliability and validity of the Concept 2 skiing ergometer in regard to a 1 km upper body time trial," Kovacs evaluates the accuracy and reliability of the machine. He hypothesises if a group of athletes did a time trial on the machine, would the same person that came first on the machine come first if it was on snow instead?

Schedule and Results

Start lists for Australian athletes will be available as soon as they are allocated. Please note this can be as late as within 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the event. Medal events, regardless of Australian participation, will also be displayed here.
